It’s the time of the NFL year when the workout warriors are displaying their prowess before pads go on and teams open training camp.

For the Los Angeles Rams, the primary goal is to meet or exceed last year’s surprising 10-7 record behind quarterback Matthew Stafford.

It followed the sharp injury-influenced downturn after the previous season’s Super Bowl championship and perhaps indicated that the disappointment was a fluke.

But it will take more than Stafford to return the Rams to the promised land, and running back Zach Evans is one young player hoping to step up in year two.

NFL insider Justin Allen posted an incredible video showing Evans’ overall strength as he lifted an impressive amount of weight multiple times.

Evans did not get much of a chance to showcase his talents last season after being a sixth-round draft choice from Ole Miss.

He only carried the football nine times for 19 yards.

But if the video circulating on social media is any indication, Evans is hard at work making himself more valuable for the resurgent Rams.

Of course, he is looking up the depth chart at Kyren Williams, the former Notre Dame standout who set career highs for yards (1,144) and touchdowns (15) last season.

But if there’s one thing you can count on in today’s NFL, it’s that multiple productive running backs are needed to field a potent offense.

It is also true that the shelf life for the position is incredibly short, meaning that if Evans continues to work hard and bide his time, his chance to shine will likely come sooner rather than later.
