The New Orleans Saints recently made some roster moves to bring in some new energy to the building.

According to Pro Football Talk, the team signed cornerback Mac McCain and safety Roderic Teamer.

They also made the move to cut defensive end Nathan Latu.

Whenever it is June in the NFL, these kinds of minor moves take place with plenty of teams.

It keeps the competition going.

After going undrafted out of North Carolina A&T in 2021, McCain has bounced around the NFL playing on the practice squads of teams such as the Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, and Carolina Panthers.

He also played for the San Antonio Brahmas early on in 2024 before going to the Saints.

The addition of Teamer might be even more interesting.

The 27-year-old is now on his fourth NFL team in the last six years.

After going undrafted out of Tulane fittingly enough in 2019, he played for the Chargers before taking 2020 off.

He played on the practice squad of the Colts in 2021 before finding a home in Las Vegas with the Raiders for parts of three years.

Now, he has found his way back to the place where he went to college.

In 40 career NFL games played, Teamer has recorded 103 tackles, three pass deflections, a sack, and an interception.

The addition of the cornerback in McCain and the safety in Teamer must mean that head coach Dennis Allen is looking to up the game of the defensive backs this summer.
