Giants WR Reveals Unusual Food As Key To Diet

Winning seasons have been tough to come by recently for the New York Giants, and last year’s six victories put pressure on players during the offseason to improve themselves and prepare for a better season.

One offensive position that should improve with age is wide receiver, and Jalin Hyatt entered his first NFL offseason knowing he needed to improve his strength and conditioning for the rigors of the NFL.

The third-round draft choice out of Tennessee made solid contributions during his rookie campaign, catching 23 passes for 373 yards and a healthy 16.2 yards per catch average.

But he and the team want more, which will come through work between the seasons.

Hyatt told the Big Blue Film Room that the secret to his offseason diet this year is plenty of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

The receiver explained that it is difficult for him to put on weight and muscle the way some of his peers can because he burns calories quickly.

Hyatt said he makes certain to complete big meals, but when he is hungry again a short time later, he quenches his appetite with the old-fashioned sandwich.

For Big Blue to break through in the tough NFC East, many pieces must come together.

Of course, the primary piece is quarterback Daniel Jones, and he needs much help from his supporting cast.

Hyatt is part of that cast, and if consuming massive quantities of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the offseason leads to better results and more wins, that unusual diet may spread across the team.
