You never want to be the team that everybody feels like won the offseason in free agency and the NFL Draft, because that almost always crashes and burns in spectacular fashion.

However, one team has been getting a ton of buzz after a surprising run to the playoffs last season and after making some crafty moves over the past few months to set themselves up for consistent long-term success, and one analyst is a big fan of what the team is doing.

The Houston Texans are next in line to try to avoid being the offseason champions, as analyst Rick Spielman appeared on SiriusXM NFL Radio to discuss the team and said “They have all the pieces in place” after locking up wide receiver Nico Collins to an extension and bringing in star wideout Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills.

Spielman also praised offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik for building around rookie quarterback CJ Stroud and giving him everything he needs to be successful.

The Texans didn’t go crazy in free agency despite having plenty of cap space, but they spent almost all their resources improving the defense by bringing in Danielle Hunter, Azeez Al-Shaair, Denico Autry, Jeff Okudah, and Tim Settle to bolster a unit that featured plenty of high-level young talent at edge rusher and corner.

The offense will look mostly the same plus the addition of Diggs, and Stroud will have every opportunity to take the next step and ascend into an MVP-level QB.

Texans fans have to be thrilled with the situation they are in at the moment.
