We’re just over two months into the MLB season, and the Rookie of the Year oddsboard has already seen a major shakeup.
After beginning the season at +700 to win the NL’s ROY, Shota Imanaga of the Chicago Cubs now sits at the top of the oddsboard at +115. He passed the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who was once the overwhelming favorite.
However, Paul Skenes’ electric start has also majorly shifted the ROY odds.
Coming into the majors, expectations were high for Skenes, as he was the No. 1 pick of the 2023 MLB Draft.
After being called up on May 11, the talented right-hander has started six games for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Over those six starts, Skenes has shined with a 3-0 record, 2.43 ERA and 46 strikeouts.
Before his debut, Skenes’ NL ROY odds sat at +2500. Now he is second on the board at +175.

It’s been an impressive rookie campaign for Gil thus far, as he has the fourth-best record in the MLB (8-1) and the fifth-best ERA in the league at 2.04 as of June 13.
Also in the AL, former third-round pick Mason Miller has come out of nowhere for the Athletics and is currently second in the ROY odds market. He has a 2.40 ERA on the season and saves in 12 of his 13 save opportunities.
